The Cybertek crew at large have always been heavily into Amateur Radio, whether as a general hobby in the case of yours truly, or as a means of communications in the event of an emergency (aka EmComm). Indeed, one of the first survivalist books I read, How To Survive A Nuclear Disaster, by Robert C. Smith (1983) recommended the 2 Meter Amateur Radio band for local/mobile communications. Now it’s much easier to get a Technician Class ham license than it was back then.
